Camping has become on of the most popular ways to holiday in the New Forest, particularly in late spring and throughout the summer months. As a result of constantly increasing demand, there are now a wealth of campsites and holiday parks spread all over the New Forest and close by, ten of which are managed by the Forestry Commission and are suitable for campers and caravanners alike.

There are also many further pitches and privately owned camping sites spread all around the New Forest, being close to Ashurst, Beaulieu, Brockenhurst, Burley, Lyndhurst, Stoney Cross and Sway, amongst other destinations. It is not unknown for campsites to be regularly visited by one of the New Forest's resident ponies or deer, which always makes for a memorable camping experience.

Camping sites in the New Forest are all graded, being awarded between one and five stars relating to overall facilities, quality and standard of accommodation. Most pricing is generally calculated on a per pitch, per night basis, and at weekends, heavy demand makes advance reservations a sensible idea.
